P&C Stadium is now called Alliance Bank Stadium

|
P&C Stadium is the home of the Syracuse SkyChiefs of the International League. The SkyChiefs are the AAA affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. P&C Stadium opened in 1997, replacing MacArthur Stadium, which had stood in what is now the P&C parking lot. MacArthur is regarded as a classic old ballpark, but once again, a classic I missed. It seems that I discovered the minor leagues about five years too late. |

You may notice the lack of people in the stands in these photographs. This is because I did not see a game at P&C. I dropped by during my drive home from Rochester. A friendly groundskeeper let me in for a walkabout and I fired off a few quick shots for the archives. As such, the visit was not official. |

Since I am unable to comment on the experience of seeing a game, I am not equipped to rate this ballpark. My five minute walk-around impressed me greatly, though. It's a very attractive park with an open architecture and a concourse that allows fans waiting on line for food to watch the game. The artificial turf is an abomination in such a nice building, but as they are a Blue Jays affiliate they apparently feel the need to prepare their top prospects on the same surface they will find in Toronto. Check in sometime in the future and you may just find this page updated with tales of a game in Syracuse. |
