Olympic Stadium is the home of the Montreal Expos of the National League.

The Montreal Expos have had a hard time of it over the years. Powerhouse teams in the 80s just missed taking that last step to the World Series and the best team they ever fielded never got the chance to go all the way due to the 1994 strike. The Big "O" was jumping in those days.

Now the fans have little reason to come out to see the team, what with mismanagement and the ridiculous MLB-ownership situation. And the ballpark is not much of an attraction either.

Off-field mishaps aside, Olympic Stadium is a terrible ballpark. The seats start out far from the field and go back, back, back without too much up, up, up. And when the lower deck reaches about row 60, the upper deck starts and that is even farther from the field.

It does look cool from the outside, rather like a spacecraft about to lift off and the Metro runs right to the ballpark. Inside, the roof is a strange and otherworldly sight.

It's just a really bad baseball stadium. There was once a referendum on a new ballpark in Montreal and perhaps that would have given Montreal fans a place to celebrate their team. Now such dreams are long gone as the few remaining Expos fans wait to find out where their once-proud team will make it's new home.
