New Britain Stadium is the home of the New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League. The Rock Cats are the AA affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.

Just as the Chicago White Sox managed to just miss the renaissance in major league ballpark design, so it seems that New Britain failed to recognize the trends in minor league stadiums. While all around them beautiful ballparks were going up or about to go up in Norwich, Bridgeport, Somerset, and so on, the Rock Cats replaced Beehive Field with the nice, but very pedestrian New Britain Stadium.

Located in a park that contains a high school football stadium and Beehive Field, New Britain Stadium is nice enough, but it certainly lacks style. A basic grandstand runs from line to line, about halfway between the bags and the foul poles with no roof, no overhead boxes, no interesting architectural touches at all for that matter.

The concourse is below the grandstand, an orientation that is most definitely out of date. To it's credit, the place is entirely fine for watching a baseball game with nice sightlines and seats close to the field. The outfield backdrop is a stand of very nice trees.

In short, New Britain Stadium is entirely unremarkable, but completely adequate.
